Admissions are based on an interview and a submitted portfolio. 

Registration for interviews will open in the second half of April.

Candidates for second degree programs must have completed a first degree. Completion of an art degree is not required.

The candidate must take into account the possibility of completing individual subjects or a semester/year from undergraduate studies to complete the required knowledge. This supplementation can take place both, before and during the second degree program.

Such a decision is made by the Dean/Dean of SNM at the request of the Qualification Committee.


1. online registration

The candidate creates an account in the recruitment portal: rekrutacja.pjwstk.edu.pl

He receives an activation link, and after activating his account, he accesses his profile. Then he fills out the forms and obligatorily uploads his photo (format: ID photo/passport photo).


2. provision of documents

The candidate prepares the required documents, saves them in pdf format, uploads the appropriate files to the recruitment system or immediately delivers the originals to the Recruitment Department of PJATK in Gdansk. Documents can also be sent by mail (registered mail) or courier.

Graduates of PJATK major. Graphic Design submit:

  1. application for admission to graduate studies 
  2. protocol of the qualification procedure Required before the interview. In the protocol it is mandatory to indicate: the choice of two studios (main and additional)
  3. a current digital photo of ID format uploaded to your profile in the recruitment system for the purposes of your student ID card and application
  4. Graduation diploma with a supplement - Candidate presents the original or a copy, and a PJATK employee certifies the photocopy as a true copy. For those who have not yet defended their diploma thesis or are waiting to receive their diploma, please provide a certificate from the Dean's office and a course of study sheet. 
  5. Candidate must sign up for an interview on the recruitment portal*

PJATK graduates (outside of the Graphic Design major) submit:

  1. application for admission to graduate studies
  2. protocol of the qualification procedure. Required before the interview. In the protocol it is mandatory to indicate: the choice of two studios (main and additional)
  3. a current digital photo of ID format uploaded to your profile in the recruitment system for the purposes of your student ID card and application
  4. Graduation diploma with a supplement - Candidate presents the original or a copy, and a PJATK employee certifies the photocopy as a true copy. For those who have not yet defended their diploma thesis or are waiting to receive their diploma, please provide a certificate from the Dean's office and a course of study sheet.

Graduates of other universities submit:

  5. if you have a diploma obtained outside of Poland, the candidate must also provide a certified translation of the aforementioned diploma and apostille/legalization (if required) 
  6. candidates from outside Poland additionally present their passports
  7. proof of payment for the interview- cost of PLN 150- required before the interview
  8. The candidate must sign up for an interview on the recruitment portal

3. interviews

Interviews are held in stationary form, at the university's headquarters. Online interviews are only for foreigners who are not in Poland. 

In order to sign up for the interview, the candidate is required to select the appropriate date in the recruitment portal and pay for the interview in the amount of PLN 150 (the fee does not apply to PJATK graduates).

*Graphics graduates at PJATK who received a grade of 4 or 5 on their diploma shall submit a report in which: 

  • The candidate is to describe in a few sentences an idea for a master's thesis;
  • there must be an opinion of the promoter of the undergraduate studies on the qualification for the second degree program. 

Graduates with a score lower than 4 on their diploma must additionally attend an interview and give a presentation supported by visual materials (artwork, sketches, collages, etc.) matching the proposed project. 

Graduates of other universities

Admissions are based on portfolio assessment and interview. 

The candidate shall provide documentation of his artistic achievements: he shall present his thesis, selected painting, drawing, photography and design works made during his first or second degree studies. In addition, he should present his idea for the implementation of the thesis. 

During the interview, the candidate must also demonstrate knowledge of creating multimedia presentations and the basics of 3D graphics. Knowledge of any 3D graphics program (Maya, 3DMax or other), Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Macromedia Flash is required. In addition, the candidate should present his/her idea for the implementation of the thesis. Lack of knowledge of a particular program does not exclude the application to the university, the decision of the Dean may be to supplement the knowledge.

In the course of the conversation, it is also determined:

  • choice of graduate studio
  • selection of diploma subjects

We would like to remind you that the Branch in Gdansk recruits for majors conducted in Polish, so all recruitment interviews are held in this language.

For online interviews, registration through the Recruitment Portal is also mandatory.

NOTE: Foreigners who wish to study in Polish-language studies must know Polish at a minimum B2 level.

Interview dates for full-time Polish-language master’s programs for the 2026/2027 academic year:

Interviews will be held in person at the WSNM headquarters at 55 Brzegi Street in Gdańsk, starting at 10:00 a.m.

06.06, 20.06, 04.07, 18.07, 25.07, 01.08, 29.08, 12.09, 19.09.


4. Qualification for studies

The college qualification decision is sent after a sufficient number of candidates has been gathered to launch the study, after the submission of a set of documents and after a successful interview. The college admission decision is sent by e-mail.


5. Contract
with the university

Once all the formalities are completed, the candidate signs a contract with the University and presents for inspection the original or a copy of the graduation diploma with a supplement (or leaves a photocopy certified by a notary public operating in Poland). 

Candidates signing a contract after September 15, the University does not guarantee the issuance of documents (ID cards) before the start of classes.
