Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology
PJATK has the authority to confer degrees; doctorate and post-doctorate
- In the field of Engineering and Technical Sciences in the discipline of Technical Informatics and Telecommunications, and
- In the field of Art in the discipline of Visual Arts and Conservation of Works of Art.
PJATK Gdansk provides education in two fields of study: computer science and graphic design.
The Department of Computer Science at PJATK Gdańsk is located in the very center of Gdańsk (9/11 Targ Drzewny Street), while the Department of New Media Art has its headquarters in Gdańsk's Orunia district (55 Brzegi Street).
The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology was established in 1994 on the basis of an agreement between the governments of the Republic of Poland and Japan. High quality education of specialists able to work creatively and with commitment in the practical areas of computer technology applications important for the development of Poland has been and remains a priority for the further development of the University.
The university is authorized to educate in the fields of computer science, information management, graphic design and multimedia art, graphic design, interior design and cultural studies. The first three of these are taught in English.

Wirtualna Polska (WP)
In December 2022, the Rector of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology dr hab. Jerzy Paweł Nowacki, signed a cooperation agreement with one of the oldest technology companies in Poland - Wirtualna Polska. Since then, we have been growing and expanding our horizons together.
March 2023 was the month when PJATK entered the next level of cooperation with WP - this is when the first inauguration of the WP x PJATK Programming Academy took place! WP's openness, willingness to be among students, learning about university structures and joint dialogue allows us to be open to new opportunities.
Orange
On March 15, 2023, PJATK Rector Jerzy Pawel Nowacki, PhD, crowned with the signing of an agreement on long-term cooperation with Orange Polska, which was represented by CEO Julien Ducarroz. Representatives of both parties also visited the newly opened Orange Zone at PJATK headquarters.
The signing of the agreement and strengthening of our cooperation means not only more interesting professional development opportunities for our students, but also the beginning of a whole new thread - the creation of an innovative postgraduate course around cloud technologies.
Trefl
In August 2023, a cooperation agreement with TREFL S.A. was signed. Since then, we have been developing and strengthening cooperation together. This has provided many interesting opportunities for development, especially for female students of the University's branch in Gdansk.
Since October 2023, representatives of the KAZstudio animation studio, part of the Trefl Group, have been conducting 3D animation workshops at the Faculty of New Media Art in Gdansk for interested students.
JICA
The Polish-Japanese Academy of Computer Technology was established in 1994 under an agreement between the governments of Poland and Japan to develop computer science education in Poland. From the beginning, the Academy was supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
PJATK Gdańsk campus and infrastructure
The Department of Computer Science at PJATK Gdansk is located in the very center of Gdansk at the Wood Market. In the vicinity of the faculty, all public transportation is available. The distance from the railway station / SKM Gdańsk Główny is only 0.5 km.
The Faculty of New Media Art is located in a charming building in Gdańsk's Orunia district on Brzegi Street. The building includes green areas and free parking. Public transportation is available near the faculty.
Laboratories and studios have been set up for both departments' classes, including for GameDev, CISCO and 3D animation. Currently, the Gdansk branch has 11 computer labs equipped with computers with Intel i7 or i9 processors, 24" or 27" LCD monitors, and a room with Apple iMac computers.
