Language requirements for international students applying to college
Applicantsto PJATK must demonstrate a minimum B2 level of proficiency in the language in which they plan to study.
In light of the publication of a new regulation by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, we would like to inform you that the university is not authorized to assess proficiency in Polish and English. Only the institutions specified in the regulation are authorized to do so.
Certificates confirming proficiency in a foreign language
English
We accept language certificates attesting to a minimum B2 level of English proficiency , as specified in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education regulation.
Polish
We accept certificates attesting to proficiency in Polish at a minimum B2 level , as specified in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education regulation.
Language certificates are not required in the following cases:
English
- the applicant has passed an English-language high school diploma exam, such as the IB Diploma, European Baccalaureate Diploma, A-level, SAT, or Cambridge International AS or A-level;
- The applicant must hold a certificate of completion of a one-year preparatory course confirming proficiency in English in the four skills—listening, reading, speaking, and writing—at the B2, C1, or C2 level. The certificate must be issued by a Polish university;
- English was the language in which lectures were conducted in bachelor’s or master’s degree programs.
Polish
- the applicant holds a Polish high school diploma or a bachelor’s or master’s degree awarded in Polish;
- The applicant has completed a one-year preparatory course for studying in Polish at institutions designated by the minister responsible for higher education.
