Report from the Girls Do Engineering Gala
The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology has once again been ranked among the best non-public universities in Poland, according to the latest Perspektywy 2020 ranking.
The ranking prepared by the Educational Foundation "Perspektywy" takes into account 20 indicators grouped into the following criteria: prestige, graduates on the labor market, scientific strength, educational conditions, innovation and internationalization of studies. The Polish-Japanese Academy of Computer Technology is the best technical non-public university in the ranking. In the ranking of all domestic non-public universities, we were ranked 4th, which puts the Faculty of the Branch in Gdansk in a leading position. This distinction mobilizes us to maintain this position through continuous improvement and offering education at the highest level.
The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology was founded in 1994 (then still called the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology) by the Foundation for the Development of Computer Technology, implementing an agreement between the governments of Poland and Japan. By a decision of the Minister of National Education, it was entered in the register of higher education institutions and was granted the right to confer the title of computer science engineer. In 2007, a Foreign Didactic Center was established in Gdansk, educating students in the field of Computer Science. In 2010, it was transformed into an independent Faculty of Computer Science, whose Dean to this day is Dr. Marek A. Bednarczyk, Professor of PJATK. In the same year, the Faculty of New Media Arts was established, where the Dean is Dr. Mariusz Sladczyk.
