As part of theIT Daysevents and at the invitation of Director Monika Biblis, Dr. Radosław Stojek, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science at PJATK in Gdańsk, visitedthe Gdańsk Autonomous High School (GLA) yesterday, where he met with fourth-year students.

The meeting focused onthe skills of the future and the concept of the “humanities-oriented engineer”—who combines expertise in the natural sciences, engineering, the humanities, ethics, and social issues.

But it wasn’t just a lecture! The meeting turned into an inspiring conversation, during which the young people asked many interesting and often challenging questions. We talked about ethics in technology, the future of the IT industry, and what it means to be a computer scientist today.

The students’ tremendous engagement, their curiosity, and their openness to discussion showed that it’s worth talking to young people about the future of technology—and, above all, it’s worth listening to them!

Thank you to GLA for the invitation, and to the students for an inspiring meeting and so many important questions!

The future of IT is shaped not only by technical skills, but above all by people.
