A new podcast series, “In the Context of Science” – PJATK Gdańsk and Dziennik Bałtycki are joining forces!

We are proud to announce the launch of a new podcast series, co-produced by the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Gdańsk and the editorial team of Dziennik Bałtycki. This series of meetings, titled "In the Context of Science," is a unique media and science project in which experts, lecturers, and invited guests will discuss the most current topics at the intersection of technology, art, education, and society.

First, we tackle a topic that is currently electrifying the entire artistic and technological community – the generative revolution in visual arts.

Episode 1: Artificial Intelligence in Photography – Revolution or Threat?

In the inaugural episode of the podcast, we discuss how artificial intelligence in photography is changing the rules of the game. Are algorithms and image generators destroying traditional art, or are they—following 19th-century discussions about the end of painting after the invention of the camera—pushing its boundaries and sparking the emergence of entirely new creative trends?

Our lecturer also shares his unique academic experiences working with students of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Gdańsk and reveals whether artificial intelligence can become a genuine source of artistic inspiration.

The guest of the first episode is Dr. Leszek Żurek – doctor of art, recognized photographer, author of album publications and lecturer in photography and psychophysiology of vision at PJATK Gdańsk .
