Filip Sendal. Alenation – graphic art exhibition

Filip Sendal:
I was born in the 1980s into a family of artists. For as long as I can remember, art was discussed and created in my family home. Observing the creative process, inspiration, expressive power, and the artist's act of creation led me to believe that the path of artistic self-expression, and perhaps the search for myself, would also be my path.

In 2022, I received my doctoral degree from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw. I am a lecturer at the Faculty of New Media Arts at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Gdańsk.

I create series that correspond to my current interests and serve as a medium for artistic expression. In these activities, I use graphic, digital image processing, experimenting and expanding it to coexist with other artistic disciplines. My artistic works reflect my fascination with nature and the human body, which I treat as an endless reservoir of inspiration.

's new series of prints My new series of prints carries a powerful message and strong expression. The faces depicted, closed and frozen in stone, exude not only mystery, but also deep suffering. The works introduce the viewer to a world of strong contrasts: delicate human nature and the hardness of stone. These fused faces are symbolic metaphors for human experiences that are sometimes trapped, petrified within us. The works encourage us to reflect on our sensitivity, emotional burdens, and the difficulties we encounter in the process of opening up to the world.
This series is inspired by Wisława Szymborska's poem "I Knock on the Door of Stone." In her work, this outstanding poet touches on themes related to the search for meaning and the essence of humanity in the face of difficulties. My graphic works are a response to these ideas, referring to closing oneself off in stone as a reaction to the reality that surrounds us.
This series of graphics invites the viewer to delve into a world of emotions and reflection. By combining visual power and inspiring content, I create a space where viewers can find their own experiences and feelings. It is not only an artistic journey, but also an opportunity to explore the human condition, where hidden secrets and emotions can be revealed. By combining words and images, I create a dialogue between different artistic fields, while raising questions about our place in the world and our inner processes.
My works are not only visual images, but also convey a deeper message, inspiring viewers to reflect on their own boundaries, trapped emotions, and the need to free themselves from their burden.
