1.Online registration

Create an account on the recruitment portal: rekrutacja.pjwstk.edu.pl

You will receive an activation link, and after activating your account you will get access to your profile. Fill out the forms and obligatorily upload your photo (format: ID photo / passport photo). Be sure to select the direction you are applying for.


2.Provision of documents

Prepare the required documents, save them in .pdf format, upload the relevant files to the recruitment system or immediately deliver the originals to the PJATK Recruitment Department. You can also send them by mail (registered mail) or courier.

Required Documents:

  1. Application for admission to the university - the completed form can be downloaded from your profile in the recruitment system ( after uploading a digital photo of proof format), or obtained directly from the Recruitment Department. Candidates who do not upload a photo according to the guidelines will not be able to download the application from the portal. Remember to sign the application!
  2. matriculation certificate - the candidate presents the original, a copy or a photocopy certified by a notary public. If the candidate took an exam other than the Polish baccalaureate, he/she is also required to provide a translation of the aforementioned exam, apostille (or legalization) and its nostrification (if required)*.
  3. proof of payment for the interview (PLN 150). Payment to individual account number - visible on your recruitment profile

NOTE: Foreigners who wish to study at a Polish-language college must know Polish at a communicative level. An interview verifies language skills.

*Nostrification of certificates is carried out at the Board of Education. Persons who have diplomas issued by EU, OECD, EFTA countries and countries with which Poland has concluded agreements on mutual recognition of education are exempt from the nostrification procedure.

Apostille/Legalization does not apply to citizens of the European Union, EFTA, Australia, Canada, Ukraine, Belarus, the USA and the UK.


3.Qualification for studies

Interview fee

You pay the interview fee of PLN 150 to your individual account provided in the recruitment portal. You then send the payment confirmation generated on your bank's website to:
gdansk@pja.edu.pl
by the day before the interview at the latest.

Course of the interview

The interview is designed to test broadly understood artistic knowledge and, in the case of citizens from abroad, language competence (Polish at a communicative level).

Candidates will be informed of the outcome of the interview by email within a few days of the interview.

Online interviews - for foreign candidates only:

Online interviews are intended for people from abroad who are unable to come in person for any of the in-person interview dates. As a reminder, the same rules apply for online interviews, including the presentation of a portfolio of work.

For online interviews, the portfolio (including work on the assigned topic) should be sent no later than the day before the respective interview to the following address: grafika.gdansk@pja.edu.pl

Online 2024 interview dates:

July 26 (Friday) and September 14 (Saturday) start at 5:00 p.m.

Your portfolio should be prepared for the duration of the call (shared in Google Meet during the call).

We would like to remind you that the Branch in Gdansk recruits for majors conducted in Polish, so all recruitment interviews are held in this language.

For online interviews, registration also applies via Recruitment Portal.

You present to the Commission a portfolio of works (portfolio), which includes your own works.

PORTFOLIO the candidate brings with him/her on the day of the interview. The portfolio of works consists of:

The portfolio does not have to include all the listed types of artwork, but the more comprehensive it is, the better. It is recommended that at least 2-3 works be handmade (without the use of digital techniques). The limit on the number of works is not set (neither upper nor lower) - however, we encourage you to show your work as broadly as possible. We also do not require the presentation of samples of all the areas indicated above, although, of course, the wider the range of techniques presented, the better.


Interview

Mandatory task

As a candidate for a student of the Faculty of New Media Arts, at the interview you present a compulsory paper on a given topic.

The subject of the mandatory task in 2024:

HUMAN, CLOCK, FLOWER, FIRE (flames)

Work format: 60cm x 60cm. The composition should include all the listed elements. Any technique (including digital techniques).

Portfolio of works (portfolio)

  1. You present the Commission with a portfolio of works (portfolio), which includes your own works. Versatility and demonstration of one's own passions and artistic interests will be given preference. Examples The portfolio may include work from:
    • painting - in any technique,
    • drawing - in any technique,
    • photography - classic or digital, digital retouching also possible,
    • Computer graphics - in any technique (e.g., rendering, 3D scenes, websites, animation, etc.),
    • Printing realizations (e.g., advertising prints, business cards, corporate identity elements, etc.),
    • works in other fields related to the term "fine arts" will be an added advantage.
  2. The portfolio does not have to include all the listed types of artwork, but the more comprehensive it is, the better. It is recommended that at least 2-3 works be handmade (without the use of digital techniques).

How do you prepare for an interview?

  1. Be prepared to talk briefly about the tasks performed. Why does the work look the way it does? What did the author want to express by composing the message in a certain way? How would the meaning of the message change if a passage were removed or added?
  2. During the interview, you can and even should present your artistic interests. The topic of the interview may include the field of culture, literature, theater and the arts in general. Creativity, open-mindedness, freedom of expression and a positive attitude will be given preference.

4.Contract

A contract is a type of agreement that specifies PJATK's obligations to you and your obligations to PJATK.

The contract is sent to your email after the admission decision. After signing, upload a scan of it in your applicant profile. The contract will be accepted after you pay the first installment of tuition and upload the proof of payment to your profile.

Candidates qualified for the study are required to sign a contract with the University within 2 weeks and pay the first installment of tuition fees.

Candidates from abroad who will need a certificate of commencement of studies in order to obtain/renew a visa, residence card are required to pay tuition fees for a minimum of one semester in advance.

If your studies are paid for by your employer, for example, you can sign a contract with a University-Sponsor-Student annex. At the time of signing the contract, please make this request.
