In 2023, the Gdansk Community Foundation undertook to publish a volume of more than 60 poems by Ms. Stefania Stankiewicz and asked PJATK students to prepare illustrations for this poetry. With the support of Mr. Dr. Mariusz Sladczyk, dean of the Faculty of New Media, under the direction of Dr. Marta Marszalek, the students produced excellent illustrations.
We invite you to the New Vegetable Art Gallery for an exhibition by students of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Computer Technology, who, using digital graphics, created illustrations to poems by Stefania Stankiewicz. The works will be on display until November 30. The opening will take place on November 5 at 6pm.
Stefania Stankiewicz was born on February 25, 1938 in the village of Zakrzówek-Kolonia near Radom. Since 1957 she has lived in Gdansk. She fell in love with this city, enchanted by the charm of the sea, from where she draws spiritual inspiration for her poetry. Walks by the sea at sunrises and sunsets stimulate her poetic soul.
The author has three volumes of poetry to her credit.
The first is "Gdansk You and Nature" (2018), which contains 150 poems.
The second "What the old trees hum about" (2020) with 159 poems.
The third volume, "Scattered Beads" (2021), contained 155 poems.
Stefania Stankiewicz has received numerous awards for her work. Her poems have been published in the local press and in national publications.
